HAPPY JULY!
I can’t believe it’s already July — more than halfway through the year already! It’s surprising how quickly time passes, and this month feels like a fresh chance to slow down and enjoy summer moments.
I’ve been deliberately taking it easier lately because my back and knees have been acting up. I’m still working, but I’ve been carving out a couple of quiet afternoon hours after client tasks to rest and recharge.
We also had a worrying few days with our dog, Poppy. At age 13 she’s been a trooper, but last week she became particularly restless — pacing, whining, panting, and refusing to settle unless I sat with her on the floor. Because she has arthritis, we took her to the vet. He thinks it was a flare-up and prescribed pain relief, which seems to be helping.
It’s a relief she reached 13 with minimal medication over the years, but that episode really unsettled us. Once the pain eased she bounded around like her old self and overdid it a bit, which is all too easy when they feel better and forget their limits. Thankfully, she has settled back into her usual bouncy personality over the last couple of days.
